Pinoys tweet about celebrating Christmas while world ushers September

Different strokes for different folks is how we’re justifying why there are now at least 225,000 Filipinos tweeting about Christmas. That’s right, we’re really pumped about Jesus’ birthday, and hell yes, it’s only the first day of September. Sorry, not sorry? Users like @ourselfworth was just one of many who tweeted, “Happy 1st of September! ...

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper Christmas countdown celebration if Pinoys didn’t mention our very own Mariah Carey, erm, Christmas icon Jose Mari Chan.

Someone using the handle @chinoyqueer listed the acronyms for the country’s quarantines and wrote, “So what’s next after ECQ, MECQ, GCQ, and MGCQ? Well, it’s PASQ!” PASQ, at least in the user’s mind, stands for “Pasko,” the Filipino word for Christmas.

“Jose Mari Chan ushering Christmas in the Philippines on the 1st of September like,” he added, and posted this hilarious meme of the crooner entering a runway.
